"I lay there under the stars and thought of what a great responsibility it is to be human. I am a human because God made me. I experience suffering and temptation because mankind chose to follow Satan. God is reaching out to me to rescue me. I am learning to trust Him, learning to live by His precepts that I might be preserved."

Story of Grace by United Pursuit

Let your hair down for a while.
Let the sun kiss the tips of your nose and your cheekbones.
Enjoy the life you’ve been given.
You look beautiful under all that makeup.
Use your voice to rope in the people around you.
Stretch your arms just a little bit wider.

The main thing I want in life is for people to look at me, my relationship with Zane, and the way I live and just be able to tell, “Wow, she’s really living for the glory of God.” It’s so hard.

Anonymous asked:
do you believe being gay is a sin

This is one of the hardest questions for me because I believe everyone should have equal rights and get to partake of everything in life just as the other does. I have friends that are gay and I don’t even mind it, but it’s not like I encourage them to pursue gay or lesbian relationships. I think it’s their choice and only they can choose for themselves. I believe in what the Bible says about marriage between man and wife and the original creation story:

“And the LORD God said, ‘It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.’ Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him. And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man. And Adam said: ‘This is now bone of my bones And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.’ Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh. And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”
—Genesis 2:18-25 (NKJV)

I’m not going to really get into it because it’s complicated to explain but my simple answer for you is that I think people can choose to do what they want in their lives (God did give us that free will, after all) but I, personally, don’t think gay marriage is right. And I don’t believe that people are just born that way. I think it’s a personal choice. But that being said, our freedom of choice is great and everyone should utilize it. God doesn’t hate people for being gay, nor does he hate people for any other sin. We all, as human beings, sin every day. No sin should be compared to another - they are all equal in God’s eyes. And even though we all fall short, He still loves us the same.

And today is a day just like any other…

Except for today I am cleaning up my life! Literally and figuratively speaking. I’ve already done a load of laundry, emptied the dishwasher, washed all the dishes in the sink, cleaned my bathroom, and my room…..

And now on to phase 2: cleaning up my Facebook friends - I can’t stand scrolling down seeing all these randos, creepers, party people, negative nancies, etc.

Phase 3 will come later which consists of: cleaning up my computer, deleting old programs/files/etc. and updating my iTunes library.

Future Glory

“I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.”
-Romans 8:18-19

Nothing in this life compares. Nothing is too big for God to handle. If we live by the Spirit and have the Spirit living in us, we are never alone in our walks. This life has many great opportunities for better lives and for making our time here on Earth enjoyable, but even those things don’t truly matter. They are not worth comparing with the glory that is to come. God is the master of everything. He created us so that we may live for Him, but He also gave us the choice of what paths we choose to take in our lives. I think that is the greatest thing of all. He wants us to want Him, to go after Him passionately. The creation waits in eager expectation to find out which paths we choose to take, which way we decide to shift our minds. We are all sons and daughters of God, and all He wants is for us to come back to Him. I couldn’t even begin to image what eternal life with Him would be like: the great thing beyond Earth. I pray today for passion, longing, zeal, knowledge, and wisdom so that I can increase my faith and live for Him always.

Unstoppable

I’m in one of those moods that makes me feel like I’m sitting on top of a huge mountain just looking down at all of the beautiful things that surrounds me. I really couldn’t ask for anything more at this point in time. This weekend was great, and I know times to come will be even better. I feel that people are growing closer together and growing closer to God left and right, which is a great thing to witness. I sometimes wish that every weekend could be like the kind I had this weekend…just friends going on a trip together somewhere new, playing music, having praise and worship times, just hanging out, getting to know each other better, and escaping the real world for just a small amount of time. Escaping reality probably isn’t a good thing to get used to, but I think it is definitely needed every once in a while. Just to get rid of all the thoughts that may cloud your mind, including other people in your life, all of the obligations and responsibilities, all of the assignments for school that need to be done and everything that has to be turned in at certain times. It’s great to just escape sometimes. I have a ton of things to get done these last few weeks of school, but I’m just going to try my best to push through them. Over these next few weeks, I will let some people down, I will make some people extremely happy, I will probably lose communication with quite a few people that I was just getting to know, I will become overwhelmed, I will become frustrated, I will make myself happy, I will plan a lot of things for the upcoming days, I will have tons of fun with friends and go on adventures. It’s crazy how people can go through so many things in such a short amount of time. But no matter what we go through, it’s always worth it because living for something is so much better than just living to get through it. Life is so worth it, and I thank my lucky stars and the God that made them that I can experience everything in life, including the hard times.
